Nixon Library

My experince to the Nixon Library was very fun. I went to the library with my ABE class. I got to see intertsting things. They took us on a tour of the the place. I got to see President Nixon’s brithplace, his grave, the Eastroom, the first presidental limo. I really enjoyed myself at the library. It was a great experince to learn about President Nixon and how he lived his life.

Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta Georgia. His father was a Baptist minister. He gave his first sermon to his father’s congregation when he was seventeen. Martin became ordained as Baptist minister when he was 18 years old. He went to Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania, to get more education. While he was there learned the teachings of Gandhi. After graduating from Crozer be education and earned a Doctor of Theology degree from Boston University. Martin got married to Corretta Scott. She was studying to become a singer and a performer. They moved to Alabama where he became a Pastor of Dexter a Baptist Church. He became respected by leader in the struggle to help the African American achieve were the full and equal citizenship to which they were entitled for. One night he was gunned down. Today we celebrate his birthday as a national holiday.

Winter Holiday

Winter Holiday

I celebrate the winter holidays with my family and friends. Every year I put up a Christmas tree and decorate my house. I exchange Christmas gifts with my family and friends. I go to my aunt’s house on Christmas Day to see my family. We have good Indian food and visit with one another. I love the winter holidays and celebrating the New Year.

The Solar System

Our Solar System is made up of the sun, moons, and planets. Our planets are all different sizes. The planets can be divided into two groups called the inner planets and the outer planets. The inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.  They are small and made up of iron rock and iron. Mercury is the smallest planet. Its surface is silicate rock. Mercury is closest to the sun. Mercury does not have any moons. Venus is the second largest planet from the Sun and the sixth largest planet. Venus rotates in the opposite direction from the other planets. The average temperature of Venus in 876 °F, and it has no moons.   Earth is the third largest planet.  The earth’s surface is made up of basalt and granite rock. Mars is known as the Red Planet. The largest volcano in the solar system is on Mars. It’s sometimes called Olympus Mons. Mars has two moons.  The outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Saturn’s surface is made up of liquid hydrogen. It has 47 moons. Saturn is 887 miles away from the sun. Galileo first discovered the rings around Saturn with a telescope.  Uranus is 1.8 billion miles away from the sun. The surface of Uranus is liquid hydrogen and helium. Uranus has 27 moons. Neptune is 2.8 billion miles away from the sun. The surface of Neptune is made up of hydrogen and helium. Neptune has 13 moons. These are the planets that make up the solar system.

My Hero

My hero in my life is my mom. My mom is my hero because she encourages me to do my best. She is strong, brave, and hardworking. She also has a healthy life. She has always been there for me throughout my life. She has inspired me to be all that I am today. My mom is my hero because she always tells me to be thankful for the things I get and do for people. When I grow up I want to use what she has taught me for my kids. These are the reasons why my mom is my hero.

My Last Vacation

On my last vacation I went to New York City with my family. I went to see lots of different places in New York. I went to see the Lion King on Broadway. I went to see Ground Zero, Times Square, Central Park, and did some shopping. I also went to see the Statue of Liberty. I had a lot of fun. I would like to go back to New York again.

My Favorite Season

My favorite season is summer. I like summer because I can go to the beach, eat ice cream, go on vacations and hang out with friends and family. I aslo like going to Angel games and going swimming. I love summer, becasuse the days are longer and I can do more fun things. Also I have no school and I don’t have to worry about homework. These are the reasons why I like summer.

Inspired

Michael Jackson inspired many people in different ways. He was very talented singer, dancer, and a good role model for African Americans. He inspired me to dance.  My favorite songs of his were “Thriller” and “The way you make me feel”. He was known for being the “King of Pop”. I was very sad to hear that he passed away and it was shocking to also hear that his children have lost their dad. I am going to miss him a lot.

My First Job

 My first job that I had was working at Disneyland. I was working at a quick service restaurant called the Village Haus. I was working as a hostess. I mostly worked the front of the house. My job was going to each window and giving people their food and drinks. I would sometimes work in the kitchen preparing things. As a cast member, I would get good benefits like getting people into the park, going to special events and learning new things. The company was very flexible on my hours and what days I wanted to work. I would come to work wearing a costume each day. I really liked working at Disneyland it is the best job that you could ever ask for.

Orange County

I like living in Orange County for many reasons. One reason is I like the weather. The weather in Orange County is so pretty during the summer time and spring time. The second reason is that I like going to theme parks. My favorite theme parks are Disneyland, and Sea World, because I like what they have to offer. The third reason  I like living in Orange County is that I like going to the beach, because I like to lie on the sand and eat ice cream. These are the reasons why I like living in Orange County.
